My Very First WHERE BLOGGERS CREATE Party! 2015

This is my airy light-filled studio which is surrounded on two sides by deep woods.  Here I have my fabric stash, my craft tools, my collection of beautiful papers, my papier mache houses, my American Girl dolls and many things I have created over the years.

I am often joined in my creative endeavors by one or more of my three black cats who contribute a great many long black hairs to my projects.  I am sometimes joined by Murphy who tries to help me write my blog.

I painted an old cupboard white and covered the insides of the doors with a beautiful sheet of wrapping paper covered with colorful envelopes.  Inside are stored beads, inks, stamp pads, art stamps, small tools, embellishments, clay, sandpaper in different grades and paint--lots and lots of paint.

Here is where I sit to write my two blogs.  Underneath the computer screen are many, many books on sewing, crafting, collage, quilting, decorating--you name it, I've got it!

I picked up my elevated work table at a garage sale years ago for $5.  A matching chair came with it so I think I got a very good buy.
Underneath are more books (surprise!) On this table I have colored pencils and pens, markers, scissors, rulers, brushes, small tools, glue and various paper and chipboard goods.

The entire closet of my craft room is devoted to my fabric stash, wrapping paper, cardstock and stacks of scrapbook paper separated by color.  Two huge drawers under the bed hold current sewing projects and MORE fabric.  And you will see large pretty boxes all over the room filled with the kind of supplies that make an artist's heart beat faster.

Thanks for visiting my studio.  Come back anytime and you will find me
right here!

  2. I knew I would love it. We are kindred spirits. Your table and chair were a great bargain. I am a little envious you have an entire room and closet. I work in a closet! I am glad you joined the party.
I'll be linking probably tomorrow. Got a little tidying up to do. In the meantime you can come by and meet me. I linked last year. Well have a good day and enjoy the party!

    1. First of all, I love your name! It is wonderful to meet a quirky kindred spirit and I appreciate your writing me. I NEVER had a studio in my life until I moved into this little condo by the woods two years ago (hence, my "Imaginary Cottage"). So I have had great fun decorating and sorting and now this is my favorite room. I eagerly look forward to seeing your link tomorrow and I will look you up at last year's party. Come back and visit me anytime!

  4. Dear Sheryl: Thanks so much! I have never had a studio before; it has always been a corner of a room, a closet or no space at all with supplies where ever I could hide them. So this studio has become my favorite room! I am a fairly new blogger as well and I love it. I have met fascinating women all over the world through my blog and everyone is so friendly and helpful. Come back and visit anytime!

  5. Hello from Ontario Linda. Having a studio, even if small, to do what we love is gratifying. I like your view out the window and the brightness of the room - my corner is in the basement which requires a good deal of supplemental lighting.
It appears you enjoy various crafts and I have in the past but mostly just make my own cards now which I really like doing.
    Happy crafting from # 33.

    1. Thanks, Maureen, for visiting. Although I still hope for a cottage some day, in the meantime I try to decorate wherever I'm living in a shabby cottage style. I have deep woods outside every window of my condo and that helps to create a fairytale mood. Please visit again anytime.

  14. I realize I'm late visiting, but I couldn't miss this opportunity to see your beautiful wooded space. I bet the views are fantastic. Speaking of views, you have a lovely room, with lots of beautiful dolls and storage. And THREE black cats. My two are jealous, because they aren't allowed in my craft room. Thanks for sharing your lovely craft space.

    1. My cats are really not allowed in the craft room either, but sometimes one will sneak in. I always know because suspicious black hairs are left on my current project. If you want to see some views of my woods, look at some earlier posts. I took lots of pictures and the woods ARE lovely. Come back anytime. I shall now view your space.
